Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and acute conditions, working nights in a fast-paced environment where your clinical judgment directly impacts patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously; identify and respond to arrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Collaborate with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage an appropriate patient load per unit acuity and staffing guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree (BSN)
• 1+ years of telemetry experience
• 1+ years of medical/surgical nursing experience
• 2+ years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
• 2+ years of conscious sedation experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
• Demonstrated competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Ability to manage cardiac medications and respond to rhythm changes
