Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC

Shift: 10:45 PM – 11:15 PM | Contract: 13 weeks | Start: October 4, 2026

This is a fast-paced Emergency Department position in Asheville, NC, supporting a high-acuity patient population that includes trauma, stroke, behavioral health, and a diverse, multi-cultural community. The ED serves patients across more than 120 spoken languages and handles a broad range of clinical presentations at significant volume.

Unit Details

• Active ED environment with techs supporting cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and
• Unit clerks available on both day and night shifts
• Every other weekend required; block scheduling is not available
• Float is within the ED only — all sections of the department

Certifications Required (prior to start unless noted)

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS — all required before first day
• ENPC — required within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
• Experience in a high-volume emergency setting strongly preferred
• Team-oriented with the ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED

• Dress code: Navy scrubs
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week
• Patient experience expectations include AIDET framework and consistent patient communication throughout each visit
