Med-Surg Telemetry – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Med-Surg Telemetry nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work the night shift: three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), caring for patients on telemetry monitoring with a focus on dysrhythmia recognition and management.
Requirements
- 12 months of permanent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current at time of submission)
- Willingness to obtain NIHSS certification prior to start
- Permanent Ohio license or current Compact license in hand at time of submission
- One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in your specialty (from the past 12 months; Charge RN references accepted)
Orientation & Assessment
You'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation. You'll have a maximum of two attempts to achieve an acceptable score on both.
Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Background check and BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract
- Drug screening (10-panel + nicotine) required within 12 months of start and updated annually
- Annual Hands-On Competency required for continuity (6–15 hours pre-start; 4 hours billable annually)
