Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Johnsbury, VT

Shift: Three 12-hour rotating shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

Join the Emergency Department at the facility as an experienced RN. You'll provide comprehensive care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies across a busy, physician-staffed rural ED. This role demands strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every shift matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize patients with diverse emergency presentations
• Deliver direct patient care while managing multiple simultaneous needs
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and inpatient teams
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Maintain high-quality, safe care under pressure
• Function independently with sound clinical judgment

Required Qualifications

• Current Vermont or Compact Multi-State RN License
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 3 years Emergency Department RN experience
• Ability to work independently in a rural emergency setting
• TNCC preferred

• Reliable personal transportation required; public transit not available in the area
• Flu vaccination required
• All credentialing documentation due five business days before start date
• You will start on a Wednesday; during orientation week, guaranteed hours may be 36 hours
