Med Surg
Medical-Surgical RN | Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA
Schedule: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (48 hrs/week standard; 36-hr option available)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work 1–2 of the following: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
No on-call required
Weekend Rotation: Every third weekend
About the Unit
This Medical-Surgical unit provides post-operative care for a diverse surgical population, including hip and knee replacement, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery patients. Nurses manage PCA and heparin drips and may be required to float across multiple campuses within the health system.
Requirements
- Minimum 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in an acute hospital setting (required)
- Post-operative surgical experience highly preferred
- PCA and heparin drip management experience required
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
- BLS certification through AHA or ARC required
- Driver's license required
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months preferred
