Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Night Shift
Assignment Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) beginning November 3, 2026. This is a 3×12-hour schedule with every-other-weekend coverage required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years PCU RN experience
- Active California RN license (required at submission)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIHSS preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Unit & Patient Population
Clinical Skills & Scope
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen management
- Central line and PICC line care
- Chest tube and pacemaker management
- Blood product administration
- Continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube care
- Pre/post hemodialysis management
- Cardizem and amiodarone drips (non-titrating)
- Post-cardiac angiogram and post-MI care
- Bubble study echo, TEE, cardioversion, and radial compression device recovery
Staffing & Flexibility
Float responsibilities include PCU, med-surg, and ED boarding. You must be available for Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Flexibility and a willingness to work holidays are essential.
Requirements at Submission
Two professional references (supervisor level or higher) from the past year are required at time of application.
