Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• 13-week contract
• Start dates: October 26, November 2, or November 16, 2026
• Weekend coverage required
• No floating between units
• No on-call
• Flexible scheduling required; no scheduling requests can be accommodated

Holiday Requirements

You must work 2 of the following major holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day. Extended time off (2+ days) during holiday weeks will not be approved.

Requirements

• 2+ years of nursing experience
• Active California RN license (must be current at time of application)
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and CPI certifications
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two professional references from a supervisor or higher within the past year

Clinical Skills Required

• IV starts and maintenance
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Management of violent and psychiatric patients
• Blood product administration
• Phlebotomy

Clinical Scope

You'll provide care across a broad patient population including adults, pediatrics, geriatrics, and neonates. The unit handles trauma, acute psychiatric episodes, drug overdose, stroke, STEMI, and mechanical circulatory support patients. You'll also manage inpatient psychiatric holds in ICU, medical/telemetry, and medical/surgical settings.

Experience with trauma and is highly preferred.

84 hours of structured orientation provided.
