Med Surg Tele

Med-Surg/Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

This cardiac-focused Med-Surg/Telemetry unit provides complex care for adult and geriatric patients recovering from procedures including post-PCI, pacemaker and AICD placement, and post-MI management, as well as orthopedic overflow and medically complex long-term cases.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Float to Med-Surg required

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 24, 2026
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Required Credentials

• Active New York RN license — must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required (include valid NIHSS with submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Previous charge experience required

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral and central line care, PICC line management
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols
• Respiratory support: nasal cannula, face mask, high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management
• Tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management
• Isolation precautions; rapid response and code team participation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and social services

Scrub Color: Navy and white (any combination)

Additional Notes

• Requested time off may not exceed 10 days per contract
• Pre-start modules required (up to 10 hours; first 5 hours billable)
