Licensing & Credential Requirements

California

Travel Nuclear Med Tech positions require active ARRT certification in the appropriate modality. Most facilities also expect current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. California requires a CRT (California Radiology Technologist) certificate issued by the CDPH Radiologic Health Branch. Fluoroscopy permits are required for certain modalities. Either ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) certification is accepted at most facilities. PET/CT experience is increasingly required, especially at oncology-focused centers. Radiation safety officer certification is a plus for smaller departments where the tech manages compliance. Submit your CRT application through the CDPH Radiologic Health Branch as soon as you have an offer — temporary permits are not routinely issued for radiologic technologists.

Georgia
