Licensing & Credential Requirements
Travel MRI Tech positions require active ARRT certification in the appropriate modality. Most facilities also expect current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. California requires a CRT (California Radiology Technologist) certificate issued by the CDPH Radiologic Health Branch. Fluoroscopy permits are required for certain modalities. Facilities with 3T magnets or cardiac MRI programs often require documented experience with those specific platforms. MRI safety screening competency is universally expected; some larger programs prefer MRSO certification.
